Instead of simply being layered over the top of each other, dimensional asphalt shingles are constructed end to end and can create a unique look that is almost immediately distinguishable when you drive through your neighborhood. Moreover, these types of shingles are longer-lasting than three-tab; most experts believe they can last nearly 30 years with the right installation and maintenance.
Luxury Asphalt
if you truly want the best type of residential shingle roof replacement that you can buy, you should consider luxury asphalt shingles for two very simple reasons: appearance and durability. These types of shingles are usually heavier than the other two on this list, but can also provide greater protection against tornadoes and hurricanes, as well as hail. While they might not be as durable as something like Slate or cedar, they're also not nearly as expensive, providing you with superior protection and a very unique look at a fraction of the cost.
